one of the things i enjoy about running is that now that i am older i can do it much easier. that may sound stupid, but the fact is that when i was a young man i wanted to sprint, sprint, sprint everywhere.
i was remarkably fast, and so i used my God-given talent to race by people in football and soccer as often as possible, as well as on the track. still do, when the event calls for it.but nowadays, with a running regime as part of my exercise, i love running long distances. treadmill running is my favorite, but i run outdoors when the weather slacks up down here in Fla.
all that said, i am nowhere NEAR as fast as this woman. she ran a 10K in the masters track championships in just under 40 minutes. my best time is probably closer to 50 minutes, although i never raced anybody that far. and she's 48!
so i go from honoring the young (a middle school track long-distance star) yesterday to the old today. whatever set you belong in, seeing people perform well in their respective athletic endeavors is motivational.
seek that motivation and look high and low for your momentum. you'll find it, because cool people exist all over the place!
